Epworth & District Agricultural Show
Epworth & District Agricultural Show is an annual event in the agricultural calendar. They contracted Bounce to undertake a full PR campaign, gaining media exposure of the show to attract more visitors, and to establish it as a major event in the agricultural and farming calendar for the region. They also asked Bounce to fulfill their advertising requirements.
In order to build a full PR campaign, Bounce initially put together a timeline of what information would need to be sent to the media and when. This was used as a working document throughout the PR campaign, to fit in with lead times for monthly and weekly publications, as well as forward features lists. Once the programme of PR activity was agreed, Bounce put together a comprehensive media list of national and regional publications that included mainstream media as well as more targeted agricultural and specialist titles that would be interested in some of the events at the show. A library of hi-res images was also requested from the organisers and the exhibitors at the show.
A series of press release titles was pulled together, starting with an initial announcement of the show, and then focusing on various acts and events at the show, as well as updates and news on events such as the Saddle Club. Information was drip fed into the media about the show, building up to a grand finale a week before.
Advertising rates and positioning was negotiated with publications on behalf of the Epworth District & Agricultural Show, ensuring there was a comprehensive spread of adverts going into the media with the relevant information, and it had the best positioning possible in the printed publication.
The show experienced a record number of visitors, demonstrating that the PR campaign had been a huge success, and it had reached as far north as Newcastle.
Due to the success and understanding of the show's ethos, Bounce is now the retained PR agent for the Epworth & District Agricultural Society.
